Fiddleheads are not sold by weight. They are sold by the sandwich bag size.
-
My son and I just are not enough man power to clean all the fiddleheads that are pre ordered on this site.
That papery husk is helping to retain moisture in the fiddlehead until it gets to your door too.
-
Oh heck no! Every fiddlehead was hand picked in the wild.
-
Unfortunately, fiddleheads do not dry well.
-
Hopefully English is your first language, otherwise, this question may seem a bit confusing.
You can pickle fiddleheads. Some seasons, we may offer them for sale too. Keep an eye on our store.
-
Rinse them in cold water and then place them in a bowl of cold water. Place in refrigerator. They should keep up to 7 days. Be sure to change the water every day. If you don’t plan on consuming them within the 1 week window, they should be rinsed, blanched, then frozen. Store in freezer for up to 6 months.
-
We don’t recommend shipping this item unless it’s being done so as a bulk order. We ship bulk orders out of Prince George BC via Rosenau Transport

Follow instructions here.
-
Absolutely not! They are a wild food item and need to be thoroughly cooked. You could get quite sick from undercooked fiddleheads. Please treat them like raw chicken until cooked.
-
We can accommodate large orders 100 lbs and more. Contact us for more information.
Morels
-
Morels are picked in different locations each year. No year is identical to the last. We like to check logged out areas and inside one year old forest fire burns.
-
Both. Check our store for availability.
-
Store fresh morel mushrooms inside the fridge for up to 7 days on a plate with a moist paper towel covering them. Change the paper towel daily.
-
Dried morels will keep up to two years if you store them in a cool, dark, dry location.
-
Place your dried morels in a bowl of water, milk, or even wine for approximately 20 - 30 minutes. They are then ready to fry.
-
It is common to see little critters inside morels. Simply soak them in salt water for a few minutes to kill them off before you fry them.
-
Follow instructions here.
-
Morels are more than 90% water. They lose weight quickly which is beyond our control. We try to be as accurate as possible though at delivery time.

-
Our morels are dried by natural sun, if the weather permits and then finished with wood heat.
If the weather is uncooperative and very wet, we’ll dry the morels inside our wall tents with our wood stove and proper air circulation.
-
Less than or equal to approximately 2.5 cm.
-
Generally, we do not sort morels by size and type. Your order may include a variety of morel types including conica, gray, blonde etc.

Chaga Tincture
-
Tinctures are a way to extract the medicinal compounds out of an object, in this case, chaga. We use 100 proof vodka for this process.
The alcohol extracts most of the antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, acids and other compounds from the chaga. The alcohol also preserves everything and extends its shelf life.
-
A dual extraction tincture involves the use of alcohol as mentioned above, but then a heat extraction with distilled water is done. The heat will break down the chitin walls. The chaga is simmered for approximately 24 hours, and then strained. The liquid is then added back to the alcohol extraction at a ratio of 1:1.
-
Store the tincture in a cool dry place. Do not remove the tincture out of the dripper bottle it came with and always ensure the lid is screwed back on tightly to the bottle. It will keep for up to 2 years.
-
Start with 10 drops. Take it once per day for 7 days and then take a 7 day break. The following week, take 15 - 20 drops at once. We follow the one week on and one week off schedule. Don’t forget, you can add the tincture to your favorite smoothies. Note, it’s not advisable to mix it with chlorinated water as the chlorine may strip some of the important compounds out of the chaga. This is why we only use distilled water during the extraction process.
